THE BORO PONCHO

THE BORO PONCHO

$450.00

Ponchos aren’t just a 70s redux-they’re also a no-waste garment beloved by weavers and textile designers. They are also remarkably cross-cultural across millennia: most cultures with defined textile traditions have a form of a poncho somewhere in their history. Weavers get this for the reasons shared above! Our BORO PONCHO combines this age-old form with another old tradition: boro stitching. Look carefully though: these are not stitches but rather part of the weave itself!

This is a great all-gender garment for the changes in season or even those suddenly cool summer nights.

Grown here, spun by Still River Mill in Ct and woven at Lilly Marsh studios in NY.
